Atika is a Trainee Solicitor within the firm’s Crown Court Department, where she is actively involved in the preparation and progression of serious and complex criminal cases.
Working alongside senior solicitors and counsel, she ensures that matters are prepared with precision, structure, and strategic focus from the earliest stages through to trial and sentence.
Atika has assisted in the defence of clients facing a wide spectrum of criminal allegations, including violent offences such as grievous bodily harm and assault, drug-related matters and offences of dishonesty. She is experienced in reviewing prosecution evidence, analysing case papers, identifying evidential weaknesses, and contributing to defence strategy in proceedings.
Her responsibilities include drafting detailed and persuasive bail applications, preparing clear and comprehensive defence case statements, and compiling structured mitigation bundles to ensure that all relevant personal, legal, and contextual factors are properly advanced before the court.
Atika plays a key role in liaising with clients, counsel, experts, and third parties, maintaining organised case progression and ensuring compliance with strict Crown Court procedural timelines. Her methodical preparation and attention to detail contribute directly to the firm’s ability to deliver high-quality representation in complex litigation. She approaches every case with professionalism, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility, recognising the seriousness of the proceedings faced by clients and the importance of meticulous case preparation.
Atika holds a First-Class Honours degree in Law, reflecting her academic excellence and strong legal foundation. She is currently undertaking further professional legal training as part of her pathway to qualification as a Solicitor, continuing to build upon both her academic achievements and practical experience within criminal defence.
